John Newton, the English sailor and poet has a unique visitor experience which reflects his life and the meaning behind his incredibly famous hymn, Amazing Grace.
We gave the exhibition a modern interface by installing a large scale video projection, show controlled lighting and an immersive audio experience.
Our installation helps bring Mr Newton’s story to the many visitors and holiday makers that visit the tranquil island of St Kitts in the Caribbean.
Being installed on a small Caribbean island created many hurdles such as differences in electrical supply, hot humid temperatures and the absence of any spare parts.
To add to this complexity, some of the equipment needed to be removable so the space can be used for its other purpose as a place of worship.
With thorough testing, packaging and allowances for spare parts, the installation was very successful and meant there was even time for a little sunbathe.
